The OSSC supports several outreach events each year.  If you would like to volunteer to help on a project or event, please contact OSSC Outreach Chair - Nick Lambert, or any member of the Outreach Committee.

Some past projects include:

        

Families participating on an OSSC Optricks Day.  The right photo shows children studying the LED integrating sphere designed and fabricated out of a spherical cake pan by Mark Helmlinger. LED Integrating Spheres, fabricated by Mark, are available from the OSSC at a nominal cost.  Information about building your own is available on the OSSC Education page.

Optics Outreach Donations

The OSSC is NOT a  a charitable organization as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code. If you would like to contribute to the OSSC's Optics Outreach efforts, you may make your contributions to either the OSA Foundation which offers grants to the OSSC and other local and student chapters, or to our local Optics Outreach partners at the Optics Institute of Southern California.  Both of these are charitable organizations as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.
