The System Test & Application Development Engineer is an opportunity to immediately contribute to the integration, validation and qualification of new products & applications for gas analytic measurement systems and equipment. This engineer will support design engineers, R&D engineers and other test engineers with research, engineering builds, process development, system integration & testing of components, subsystems and systems, ensuring the highly integrated analytical devices meet the target application requirements. This engineer will deliver on a wide breadth of duties in a cross-functional mechanical, optical, electrical and software team
Essential functions include:
Develop and execute test plans, including mainly but not limited to spectroscopy functional tests. Develop, build & automate test equipment and systems, perform tests, collect data, analyze results, document and present results in a clear understandable manner. Support the deployment and evaluation of integrated systems in pre-field and field studies Organize, inspect, build, test, and document prototype and engineering builds of electronic, mechanical, and software systems and develop systems to build them for production. Develop applications using existing platforms and/or R&D prototypes to meet marketing requirement. Study feasibility both theoretically and experimentally. Develop procedures and process to transfer RD verified applications to volume production.
Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with optical spectrometers, including but not limited to TDL, Raman, NIR, NDIR, FTIR. Good understanding of spectroscopy and optical systems. Experience in test planning and execution. Hands-on experience in data acquisition, analysis, and statistical methods Excellent communication skills, both in technical reporting and presentations Basic understanding of material selections and interactions Basic Understanding of optical, mechanical, electrical & electronics Systems.
Desired Qualifications:
Hands-on experience in data acquisition and analysis;oding experience with, C, C#, C++, Python, Matlab or LabVIEW. Experience with digital signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, principal component analysis, control theory or artificial intelligence. Deep knowledge in one or more of the following: spectroscopy and application development, data acquisition/automation and/or data analysis, system test, optical systems, electronics, thermal design, mechanical design, Experience in Documentation Control and Change Processes.
Education and Working Experience:
B.S. in Engineering Physics, or equivalent with minimum of 2 years working experience. MS/PhD in engineering or experimental physics is preferred. Senior title can be negotiated for candidates with significant industry working experience.
