Abstract: The automotive industry is going through transformational changes. Many vehicles on the road today are equipped with some levels of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) and autonomy features. Automotive cameras have been playing an important role in this transformation. In this talk, Dr. Elaine Jin will present an overview of automotive cameras, including the concept of auto grade cameras, levels of autonomy, the automotive use cases and requirements for automotive cameras, and the challenges in designing and developing the automotive cameras.

 

About our Speaker: 

Elaine Jin is currently a director of camera systems at Rivian Automotive, LLC. She has a PhD in Optical Engineering from Zhejiang University in China, and a PhD in Visual Sciences from the University of Chicago. She has spent 25 years working in the imaging industry, including technical and management roles at Intel, Nvidia and Google. She has authored 25 journal and conference publications and is the inventor of 15 US patents.
