The Technical Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating technical content that will be used in marketing materials such as collateral, websites, and social media. The incumbent will work closely with product managers and engineers to create this content. They will also review content that the product managers develop, providing feedback and ensuring that the content adheres to the requirements and specifications of company standards, including accuracy and writing style.

The incumbent must have significant technical understanding of photonics and optics. Proficiency in website architecture and user experience will be very helpful. In addition to creating and curating content, this position will work with the web team to optimize the functionality and user experience, as well as monitoring analytics to modify content and website hierarchy as needed. The incumbent will also work with the web team and product mangers to drive SEO success.

Knowledge : Having wide-ranging proficiency in photonics and optics, as well as photonics lab experience. Skilled at summarizing complicated technical details into simple charts and selection tools – strong logical and abstract thinking skills. You can resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways using professional concepts and company objectives. Ability to work well within a team environment is a must.

Job Complexity : Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. You can exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. You have the ability to network with key contacts outside your own area of expertise. Skilled at managing multiple projects and tight timelines is a must.

Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.

Experience & Education : Typically requires a minimum of 3 to 5 years of related experience, including research lab experience and relevant course work. A Bachelor’s degree in physics, optics, lasers, or a related field is required. A Master’s or Ph.D. would be a plus. Previous experience working on a marketing team will be an asset to this role. Outstanding written communication skills required.
