Eye Surgery with Femtosecond Lasers

Abstract: I will give an overview of:

  • Optics and the anatomy of the human eye
  • Physics of femtosecond laser pulse generation
  • Interaction of femtosecond laser pulses with ocular tissues
  • LASIK surgery with femtosecond lasers
  • Femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery
  • Future applications of femtosecond lasers in ophthalmology
